Our Story

Founded in 2012, we now provide some of the largest energy customers, and energy suppliers in the deregulated energy market.

Having set out to provide a leading energy offering handling large amounts of data we have evolved to support three specialised products in billing, trading and energy management which are used by some of the leading customers and suppliers in the UK energy market.

In 2020 we have commenced building our business propositions in Australia and Europe re-using our broad business knowledge and cloud software product development skills alongside discovering new challenges along the way.

We’re here to build a global software product business supporting more customers with high value offerings which adapt to support new opportunities, alongside to grow and develop as a company in terms of culture, skills and process as our energy world continues to require both sophistication and simplification.

As CEO of Utilidex, Richard has the pleasure of leading an incredibly talented team of product designers, engineers, and energy professionals, with one goal in mind: to revolutionise the energy market. Richard is passionate about innovation and takes a very active role in product design and technology, as well working on the development of commercial & strategic partnerships for the business. With over 15 years experience of working in the energy and technology sectors, Richard has previously held a number of senior roles – most recently he was CEO of Energy One, an Australian Stock Exchange listed company. He holds an MBA from AGSM (Australia), is a member of Microsoft’s UK Partner Advisory Council and mentors early stage technology companies at Level39, Europe’s largest Fintech Accelerator.

Mike has spent over 20 years in Energy, across a number of business domains from wholesale trading, electricity generation, distribution and supply. Mike’s expertise across these varied disciplines has seen Mike lead a number of innovations and developments, which were forefront of the industry. Prior to co-founding Utilidex Mike was responsible for Siemens IT business in energy for the UK / Ireland. Mike is passionate about customer focus and innovation, believing that the energy sector has enormous potential for additional value with the right use of innovative technologies.

Andrew joined the Energy industry in 1990 after a period as a software and control engineer in the aerospace and robotics industry. Starting with 8 years at SWEB in a variety of roles he has since held a range of senior and director level positions in both energy and energy support businesses. This included appointments as Commercial Director of at Atlantic Electric and Gas working in I&C and domestic supply and as Managing Director of Flow Energy.  He has worked alongside Energy UK for many years developing an understanding of the strategic direction of the industry and the challenges it faces in the future. He is a firm believer in applying IT to transform relationships across the entire supply chain.

Vanessa Adams is a Client Partner at Utilidex who looks after current customers and new business sales. She is currently undertaking a MSc at Kingston University for International Business Management with Project Management. She graduated with Honors from the AACSB accredited university, Youngstown State located in the United States.  

Vanessa is customer-oriented and believes a successful business starts with listening to the needs and wants of a customer. Vanessa is very passionate about fighting climate change and social inequality. She believes that the fight for both goes hand-and-hand and she’s ready to be a voice behind this within the energy industry.

Keli works as Product Specialist and Customer Support for Utilidex, managing all data related matters and the day-to-day support of customer accounts. Prior to joining Utilidex, she graduated with Honours from a BSc in Economics & Business Administration and recently completed a MSc in International Business Management. 

Keli strongly believes that innovation and technology in the energy sector can positively impact current environmental issues, and is driven by taking an active role in helping customers achieve these goals.

As Director – Utilidex India, Vaibhav works on a day-to-day basis with other senior leaders, and management teams to make sure we continue to deliver market leading products across the geographies the company operates.  With a focus on Recruitment, Ops, Security and Technology Delivery, Vaibhav’s very focused on delivering changes which enhance our customer’s experience.
